What is Secondary glaucoma?
Glaucoma which develops due to another medical condition in the eye or in the body is called secondary glaucoma. This can be open or closed angle glaucoma.
Common Medical conditions of the eye which may cause glaucoma- Eye Trauma or Eye injury, inflammation of the eye ( uveitis), swollen lens, bleeding in the eye or formation of abnormal new vessels in the eye.
Common medical systemic conditions which may cause glaucoma- uncontrolled diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, bleeding disorders, long term steroid intake.
