What is Angle closure glaucoma?
Angle-closure glaucoma is caused by the closure of drainage canals, resulting in a sudden rise in intraocular pressure. Closed-angle means there is a closed or narrow angle between the iris and cornea.
- The early eye symptoms may be one sided headaches with colored haloes seen around light and blurring of vision.
- The patient may have severe pain in the eye, redness, headache, nausea & vomiting
- Unlike open angle glaucoma, the symptoms and signs of closed-angle glaucoma develop rapidly in some individuals
- If severe, it requires urgent medical attention.
