Our cornea expert, Prof Ritu Arora was invited by The Postgraduate Department of Ophthalmology, SKIMS Medical College and Hospital , Bemina to speak at their CME on keratoconus and collagen cross-linking (C3R).

In Kashmir, keratoconus has a high incidence due to many patients suffering from allergic disorders.

👁️‍🗨️Keratoconus is more common in children and young with allergies who run their eyes a lot. It’s a progressive condition- If left untreated, keratoconus can cause to visual disability.

👁️‍🗨️Collagen cross-linking or C3R is a non-invasive treatment modality that halts the progression of keratoconus.

👁️‍🗨️At Shroff Eye Centre, we regularly treat keratoconus with scleral lenses, C3R, Tcat and corneal transplants. We are a regional private centre for corneal transplants and have many patients who come to us for treatment from Kashmir, especially those with advanced keratoconus.

Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah, Administrative Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department joined online, as chief guest of the event. The Director SKIMS & Principal SKIMS MC Prof. M. Ashraf was also present along with the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Sheikh Sajjad Ahmad, Professor and head Department of Ophthalmology and co-organised by Prof. Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone with active participation from Dr. Nusrat Shaheen and Dr. Wasim Rashid and the resident staff of the department.
