Your Eyes, Our Passion
Is LASIK right for me?
LASIK surgery has great potential to give you a life where reaching for your spectacles and trying to wear contacts in the morning is not a part of your routine.
Our surgeons will evaluate you decide if you are a suitable candidate for LASIK/ refractive surgery, but here are some general guidelines:
• You must be an adult- at least 18 years of age.
• Your vision should be stable for a year before surgery -slight prescription changes may not disqualify you.
If you are pregnant or nursing, the hormone levels may change the shape of your eye. It is best to wait till hormone levels return to pre-pregnant/pre-lactational levels.
• If you suffer from any systemic illness, degenerative or connective tissue disorders such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sjögrens Syndrome, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, etc.
• Your corneal thickness must be adequate- determined when you come for an evaluation.
Your eyes must be healthy- no infections, glaucoma etc- Although the surgeon will take a final call in this regard.
• It is advisable to not wear contact lenses 1 week prior to your check-up and surgery.
